According to an international collaboration involving Irig, it is possible to reveal the "topological" properties of graphene's electronic states by grafting a hydrogen atom on its surface and probing the electron density by tunnel microscopy in its vicinity. A new way of investigation to better understand topological materials, as well as their remarkable electrical and optical properties.
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
